AMR Wins Gulf State Design Award

Architects from the Gulf States Region of the American Institute of Architects gathered in Philadelphia to celebrate the 2016 Honor Awards program. Fourteen projects were recognized for their thoughtful response, refreshing simplicity, and overall design excellence. Respected jury members chose these projects from those entered by architects practicing in the Gulf States region. From over 130 entries AMR's Chambers Cafeteria Addition/Renovation at Arkansas Tech University was selected to receive a Merit Award. Jamie Borg, Frank Barksdale and Jonathan Opitz accepted the award. Congratulations to the team, to CDI Contractors and to Arkansas Tech University!

Roosevelt Thompson Groundbreaking!

On Thursday, May 19th AMR, Alessi Keys Construction, the Central Arkansas Library System and many others gathered to break ground on the expansion and interior renovation of the Roosevelt Thompson Library. The expansion will allow the Thompson Library to add a teaching kitchen, three new study rooms, and a large meeting room that will be accessible after normal library hours. Funds for the $1.8 million expansion were approved by Little Rock voters through a bond refinance in July, 2015. The Thompson Library, which opened in 2004, is named after the late 22-year-old Yale University student and Little Rock native Roosevelt Thompson.
